Port Operations Supervisor
Port Operation Supervisor (POS)
Job Purpose
The Port Operation Supervisor (POS) is part of the Site Transport and Logistics Team, managing the port operations and haulage of any kind of cargo—from General Cargo up to Super heavy lift & oversized equipment (SHLO). The POS reports to the Site T&L Manager. Their key operational function is to execute the daily in-country port management and coordination.
Job Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Manages the overall port operations in the UK, including:
- Post-carriage of international shipments
- In-country shipments
- In-Site shipments (including abnormal loads with SPMTs)

Prepares the regular Transport Forecast

Acts as an interface between:
- All port stakeholders
- Hauliers
- The Transport and Logistics (T&L) Team

Establishes berthing priorities with the Construction Team and transmits these to the Port Operator

Manages the integration of vessels into the berthing planning at Redcar Bulk Terminal (RBT)

Oversees the preparation of loading activities in coordination with:
- Port Operator
- Stevedores
- Last-Mile Hauliers (pre-operation meetings, validation of method statements)

Monitors the execution of shipments by Freight-Forwarders and/or Hauliers

Supervises port operations at:
- Material Offloading Facility (MOF) (located at Site)
- Local Public Port

Supervises loading activities within:
- HSE parameters
- Other applicable rules and directives
- Provides periodic activity reports

- Essential: Significant experience with oversized/out-of-gauge (OOG/SHLO) equipment, as these specialized loads constitute a major portion of the project's deliveries.

Extensive experience in:
- General / abnormal load transport
- Port operations

- Experience in the Oil & Gas / Energy industry (preferable)
