We are looking to expand on our current groups of Port Operatives to meet the increasing demands within our busy 24/7 ro-ro terminal.

Within this challenging role, you will play a key role in ensuring a safe and efficient operation is achieved for handling our customer’s cargo on & off our ships and around the port environment.

Your role

  • Using port equipment (e.g. terminal tractors/cranes/fork lift trucks) for handling our customer’s cargo on & off our ships and around the port environment. Full training will be provided.
  • To follow health and safety procedures as laid out by the port.
  • Using our internal Freight Management System for locating cargo around the port.
  • To assist in the mooring and unmooring of our ships.

Your profile

  • An aptitude to driving.
  • Able to work a rotational shift pattern including days, nights, and weekends.
  • Pro-active approach to and knowledge of H&S.
  • Team player able to work on their own initiative.
  • Experience of port or warehouse operations ideally driving plant/machinery – although desirable this is not essential as training will be given.
