Regional Teaching Hospital

As the regional teaching hospital we work with our partner medical school and the KSS Postgraduate Deanery to undertake research and to educate and train current and future NHS staff.

Porters Vacancy

If you have applied within the last 6 months you do not need to re-apply for the Porters Vacancy until this time has expired.

Role Purpose

To provide a high quality, prompt and efficient Porter service to patients, staff and visitors and to undertake the movement of patients, equipment, documentation, food etc. in an efficient and safe manner.

  • Maintain clean and safe equipment and environment in accordance with the Porter SLA (Service Level Agreement)
  • Be responsive to service needs as they arise
  • Constantly seek to improve the productivity and quality of the service
  • Undertake necessary duties to ensure maintenance of an efficient Porter Service in both patient and non-patient environments

Ensure personal conduct is of the highest standard at all times while on the hospital premises, exhibiting courtesy and efficiency to patients, visitors and users of the service at all times.

All work must be undertaken in line with health, safety, security and Trust policies and procedures including infection control. When required, you may need to assist with the emergency and evacuation procedures e.g., major incidents/alerts systems, bomb alerts and fire procedures in accordance with Trust policy.
