About The Role

As a Customer Delivery Porter, you will be the face of the John Lewis & Partners brand. Operating out of our Network Customer Delivery Hub, you will deliver, assemble, and install products directly in our customers' homes following planned delivery routes. You will promote the Partnership brand by maintaining a professional and courteous manner toward other road users, delivering outstanding customer service, and ensuring full compliance with the Working Time Directive, Health & Safety legislation, and Partnership Policy.

Due to working time regulations, applicants must be 18 years or over to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Once fully trained, your day will see you start at the delivery hub you are based at before heading out on route, where your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as an ambassador for John Lewis, keeping customer service as your top priority and delivering an outstanding experience.
  • Start your shift at the delivery hub and assist the warehouse team with loading the lorry for the day’s scheduled routes.
  • Manage deliveries and installations in route order using a Partner Device.
  • Demonstrate respect and courtesy for customers' homes, handling unexpected situations calmly to find the best solutions.
  • Support the driver in safely installing, assembling, and disconnecting free-standing appliances, furniture, and TVs.
  • Efficiently demonstrate how newly installed products work and stay updated on new products and technologies.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to Health & Safety guidance, manual handling procedures, and GDPR requirements.
  • Keep delivery vehicles clean at all times and report any accidents, incidents, or near misses immediately to the management team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
