Location: Defence Academy, Shrivenham, Swindon, SN6 8LA
Salary: Competitive plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Perm/FT/37 hours – Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm and Friday – 8am-3.30pm

As a Porter in our Defence Academy team, you'll provide essential portering and logistical support across one of the UK's leading military education establishments. Your work will help ensure equipment, facilities, and resources are in the right place at the right time, supporting the Defence Academy's day-to-day operations and learning environment.

What you'll do as a Porter
- Carry out general portering duties across the Defence Academy campus.
- Move, set up and return equipment required for instructional and training venues.
- Transport stores, furniture, equipment and other materials safely and efficiently.
- Receive, check, record and deliver incoming goods to the appropriate locations.
- Support the reconfiguration of teaching facilities and furniture moves associated with accommodation changes.
- Assist with waste clearance, tentage set-up and dismantling, and other logistics activities as required.

Vetting and checks:
This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
