The Role

Crown Estate Scotland has an exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Analyst to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

About the Role

The successful candidate/s for this new role within the organisation will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate and timely portfolio data, registers, and reporting tools
  • Collating and validating information from programme and project teams
  • Producing dashboards, reports, and analysis identifying trends, risks, dependencies, and capacity pressures
  • Supporting integrated planning, scenario analysis, and resource forecasting
  • Tracking benefits, business case commitments, assurance activity, and resulting actions
  • Highlighting incomplete, inconsistent, or emerging information for review by the PMO Manager or Head of PMO
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of agreed PMO processes, tools, and templates
  • Building effective relationships with colleagues to gather information and promote consistent reporting practices

The contractual working location of this role is our Edinburgh office. However, we believe work is something you do, not a place you go to, and we are committed to supporting employees to work flexibly and in a way that suits their role and preferences.

Benefits

  • The starting salary will be £40,897 with potential for future progression as well as eligibility of annual cost of living rises. The maximum salary for this role is currently £47,118.
  • 25 days’ annual leave, increasing to 30 days after two years’ service, plus 11.5 public/ privilege days
  • Participation in the Civil Service pension scheme
  • Crown Estate Scotland encourage flexible working and operate a discretionary flexi-time scheme

About You

You should have:

  • Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent work experience
  • Relevant experience in a PMO, project, or portfolio support environment
  • Strong analytical capability with ability to interpret multiple data sources

You will have the following qualities, which are key to success in this role:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly across a wide range of PMO disciplines (planning, risk, benefits, change, assurance)
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, concise insight for non-technical audiences
