Portfolio Automation Analyst
Join JP Morgan's Personal Investing PMO team to build automated portfolio reporting and governance at scale—using Jira, Confluence, SharePoint and AI to produce decision-ready insights, ensure Delivery Lifecycle adherence, and keep senior forums running smoothly.
We know that people want great value combined with an excellent experience from a bank they can trust, so we launched J.P. Morgan Personal Investing to help customers invest with confidence through digital experiences that are simple, secure and intuitive. We’re building and scaling modern capabilities with a strong focus on customer outcomes, operational resilience and disciplined delivery — meaning you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact.
As a Portfolio Governance Automation Analyst (PMO) at JP Morgan Personal Investing, you will be part of an organisation supporting product delivery excellence across a large and fast-moving portfolio. Your focus will be to automate PMO reporting and governance—building KPI-driven packs, dashboards and lifecycle evidence checks from Jira and Confluence, and using SharePoint to manage meeting artefacts, decisions and actions at scale. You will also provide cover for the PMO Manager in senior governance forums when required, ensuring meetings remain decision-led, on time, and outcomes are captured and closed.
Our PMO / Portfolio Governance team is at the heart of this venture, ensuring we make timely decisions, manage dependencies and risk, and embed a consistent Product Delivery Lifecycle (PDLC) so teams can move fast. We’re looking for someone who combines a structured operating mindset with hands-on technical capability—someone who can build automation that reduces manual effort and improves the quality of decision-making.
While we’re looking for professional skills, culture is just as important to us. We understand that everyone’s unique – and that diversity of thought, experience and background is what makes a good team, great. By bringing people with different points of view together, we can represent everyone and truly reflect the communities we serve. This way, there’s scope for you to make a huge difference – on us as a company, and on our clients and business partners around the world.
Job responsibilities:
- Build and maintain automated portfolio reporting from Jira and Confluence, including data normalisation across teams using different workflows and custom fields.
- Define and maintain a KPI dictionary (definitions, formulas, data sources, caveats) and implement automated KPI computation (e.g., WIP, aging, cycle time by stage, evidence completeness).
- Produce executive-ready weekly portfolio packs (PPT/Confluence) that highlight exceptions, risks/issues/dependencies, key milestones, and “decisions needed.”
- Embed the Product Delivery Lifecycle (PDLC) by defining minimum requirements and implementing evidence tracking/checks so initiatives are decision-ready and auditable.
- Design and operate SharePoint sites/lists/libraries to manage governance meetings, agendas, actions, decisions, and artefact cataloguing with clear ownership and due dates.
- Support and, when needed, represent the PMO Manager in senior governance forums (including MD forums): prepare agendas and pre-reads, keep meetings on time, capture decisions/actions, and follow-up closure/escalations.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements in tools, templates and ways of working—reducing manual effort and avoiding additional admin burden on squads.
- Apply approved AI/automation methods to streamline PMO workflows (e.g., summarisation, action extraction, exception narratives) with appropriate validation and controls.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Strong experience with Jira and Confluence (queries/filters, workflows, custom fields, linking strategy, and working with inconsistent data hygiene).
- Advanced SharePoint skills (lists/libraries, permissions, information architecture) and experience using SharePoint to manage meeting governance and structured registers (actions/decisions).

- Experience operating in low-engagement environments by designing “one ask per week” processes and reducing manual chasing.
- Familiarity with SDLC/PDLC governance and control requirements and working with Risk/Controls partners.
