Portfolio Delivery Lead
The Portfolio Delivery Lead is responsible for providing leadership and management of the Senior Project Managers in the successful delivery of the University's approved digital change portfolio through the effective management, coordination and development of the project delivery function. The role provides leadership to Senior Project Managers and project delivery teams, ensuring that projects and programmes are delivered in accordance with agreed governance, standards, timescales, budgets and quality expectations.
Working closely with the Head of Digital Transformation Portfolio & PMO, the post holder will be responsible for maintaining confidence in the delivery of a complex portfolio of digital and technology-enabled change initiatives through effective oversight of performance, risks, dependencies and resource capacity. The role will establish and continuously enhance the suite of project management templates, methodologies, governance arrangements and delivery processes that underpin a consistent, high-quality and scalable approach to project delivery across the Digital PMO.
The Portfolio Delivery Lead will provide leadership, coaching and professional development to the Project Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement. In addition, the post holder will directly lead strategic, complex or high-risk projects and programmes where required, providing additional senior delivery capacity and ensuring successful outcomes for priority initiatives across the University. The Portfolio Delivery Lead will deputise for the Head of the Digital Transformation Portfolio as required, representing the Digital PMO at senior stakeholder forums and providing strategic leadership across the portfolio to maintain delivery momentum and organisational alignment.

Whilst there is a requirement to be in Portsmouth a few days each week, hybrid working is available for this role. We can also offer flexible start and finish times, condensed hours, and reduced hours down to 29.6 hours per week (0.8 FTE), but no lower due to the significant amount of work required.

Salary Information: New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will (in addition to receiving annual cost-of-living-related increases) progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe.
