Position Overview

As a Senior Portfolio Development Director, you will be a key leader in our global team, responsible for the strategic development and management of the Designcenter portfolio within Global Industry Strategy and Portfolio GTM organization. You will lead a team of Portfolio Development Managers and ensure that our portfolio strategy is closely aligned with the overarching business objectives of Siemens Digital Industries Software. Your expertise and leadership are crucial for the expansion and growth of Designcenter, and thus for the success of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Development

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive portfolio strategy aligned with Zone-level objectives
  • Partner with Zone executives to define sales pipeline strategy and understand Portfolio Development contribution requirements
  • Identify market opportunities, trends, and customer needs to drive continuous portfolio development and adaptation
  • Translate complex market and business requirements into concrete, actionable portfolio strategies

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Portfolio Development Managers
  • Make personnel decisions including recruitment, training and development, and performance management in accordance with relevant regulations
  • Coach and mentor Portfolio Development Managers to foster professional growth and establish best practices
  • Act as an advocate for the impact and value of Portfolio Development within the business

Business Operations and Performance Management

  • Manage business operations for Portfolio Management within the assigned Country/Region/Zone, including budget control, business planning, monitoring, and reporting
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality portfolio development activities to support software sales and achieve business goals
  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, derive optimization measures, and report findings to management
  • Drive results-orientation and operational excellence in a dynamic environment

Collaboration and Initiatives

  • Actively participate in Zone-level meetings and contribute to planning and reporting for required activities
  • Contribute to Zone and global initiatives stemming from agreed priorities and strategy
  • Deputize for the Portfolio Director VP when required

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in Portfolio Management, Product Management, or a similar strategic role, ideally in the software sector (PLM, MES, IoT, EDA, or comparable)
  • Proven leadership experience in leading and developing teams in a complex, international environment
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate market and business requirements into portfolio strategies
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Profound knowledge of business operations, budget management, and reporting
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken (required)

Our Benefits & Rewards

The total cash compensation range for this position is £159,300 to £318,600 with 50% of this being comprised of an annual incentive target (100% achievement). The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
