Springboard Success is recruiting a Portfolio Director for a well-established international B2B events and information business. The business runs specialist conferences, exhibitions and digital products for senior professionals in highly technical industries.
This is a senior commercial leadership role with real ownership. You’ll be accountable for the growth of a flagship portfolio, setting its direction, leading the teams that deliver it and reporting directly to senior leadership.
The opportunity
The business is looking for a commercially minded leader to take an established portfolio to the next stage. That means growing sponsorship revenue, expanding into digital products and building a sales function that performs consistently. You’ll have the autonomy to shape strategy, introduce new products and improve how the team works, with the backing of a leadership team that invests in growth.
What you’ll do
Strategy and growth
- Own the overall strategy and revenue performance for a portfolio of in-person events and digital products
- Identify opportunities to scale the brand, including new events, products and revenue streams
- Develop new commercial products based on market insight and client feedback, and present them to senior leadership for investment
- Work with leadership on account management and business development priorities across the wider business

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
