Portfolio Director – Strategy, Sales, B2B Events
Oxford – Hybrid, International Travel
The Portfolio Director will be responsible for managing the P&L as well as developing a commercial plan in line with the business strategy and lead a team to deliver it.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Planning and Project Management
- Own the three-year strategy and the annual commercial planning and budgeting process for the portfolio
- Create detailed function plans (Sponsorship Sales, Audience Development, Conference Production and Marketing) and KPIs to measure performance and achieve strategic and commercial objectives
Market Contact and Market Knowledge
- Build and develop your knowledge of the sector to understand market dynamics and direction and ensure your portfolio continues to meet client needs
- Communicate well with all stakeholders that should be involved in this process and ensure that response to risk is actioned
- Identify opportunities for growth with existing products as well identify new opportunities. Propose and implement innovations that can enhance customer experience and improve profitability

People and Processes
- Manage your teams, undertake regular reviews and build development plans
- Collaborate effectively with peers to maximise “share of client budget” and deliver market leading customer satisfaction
EXPERIENCE

- Degree educated with proven track record in a B2B large-scale event management as a general manager, commercial or content lead, including P&L responsibility (6+yrs experience minimum in a senior management role)
- High degree of understanding of all event functions including performance and processes
- Results orientated with proven ability to turn weakness into strength and to identify and seize opportunities
- Knowledge of sector or related fields is desirable
- Track record in the required geographies (as applicable)
- Demonstrable skills of working in a fast-moving changing environment
- Track record of managing staff and building high performing teams
