Systematic Portfolio Manager – 3+ Sharpe | $2bn Hedge Fund
Location – London or Fully Remote
Description:
Our client is an established $2bn hedge fund with a sophisticated systematic investment platform and a strong focus on identifying and backing exceptional quantitative Portfolio Managers.
The firm is now looking to expand its systematic investment capabilities through the appointment of experienced PMs with a proven ability to generate strong, repeatable, and risk-adjusted returns. The mandate is entirely strategy agnostic. The firm is open to systematic PMs across asset classes, trading styles, and holding periods, with the primary focus being the quality of the underlying alpha and the strength of the PM's live track record.
This is an opportunity for an established systematic investor to join a well-capitalised institutional platform while retaining meaningful ownership of their investment process.
The Opportunity:
The successful candidate will have responsibility for developing and managing their own systematic strategy within the firm's investment platform.
The firm is particularly interested in PMs with a live Sharpe ratio of 3.0 or above and a demonstrable history of generating consistent alpha. There are no restrictions around asset class or strategy, with the firm willing to consider a broad range of systematic approaches. The role is designed for PMs who already have a proven investment process and are looking for a platform where they can continue to develop and scale their strategy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
