Description

The Client Portfolio Manager is responsible for the production of high standards of departmental work. This means completing their own workload, allocating and reviewing the work of team members, and being a strong role model for the vision, mission, and values of the organisation. The role requires a quality-focused individual who is organised and deadline-driven.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare quality Accounts for review by Partner (Corporate and larger unincorporated)
  • Prepare company tax returns for your portfolio
  • Prepare personal / partnership tax returns for your portfolio
  • Supervise ad hoc work for clients
  • Maintain the highest standards of technical performance
  • Develop the value-added culture and actively promote new areas of work reporting to Senior Management Team (Including Management Accounts and Business Plans)
  • Develop and train staff under your control, formalised at annual appraisals, reviewing their work
  • Improve turnover of jobs in the department
  • Achieve your personal output target
  • Take control of regular Management reporting to clients
  • Prepare management letters for clients under your control
  • Develop Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero knowledge and develop Business Services with Senior Management Team
  • Liaise with clients on matters relating to their financial affairs
  • Increase turnover of practice
  • Prepare budgets, agree fees, take responsibility for work in progress/debtors, and losses on work under your control
  • Attend client meetings and liaise with clients at all levels
  • Prepare Personal Tax Returns for a portfolio of clients
  • Report to SMT on a regular basis
  • Manage your team positively

Key Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA Qualified. Farming accounts knowledge would be desirable but not essential.

Additional Requirements

  • Manage a portfolio of clients and advise on all aspects of their business to help them grow, reduce tax, and plan for the future
  • Hold client meetings to review performance and set targets
  • Review work for Juniors and assist with their training and development
  • Build strong relationships with professional contacts
  • Manage all aspects of client relationship including quoting, agreeing services, invoicing, payment method, and annual engagement renewal
  • Report to the Directors on portfolio performance and internal targets set
