How Can You Make an Impact?
You will own and drive the commercial and product strategy for defined discipline portfolios, acting as the voice of the customer and a strategic partner across the business. Your influence will be felt across product investment decisions, go-to-market planning, and author relationships, making you a critical connector between market insight and business performance.
You won't just manage products; you'll shape strategy, build meaningful relationships, and contribute directly to McGraw Hill's growth in the higher education sector.
What You Will Be Doing
Portfolio Management & Strategy (50% of your time)
- Own the financial revenue and profitability of your regional product portfolios (Finance, Accounting & Economics), collaborating with sales and marketing to meet or exceed targets
- Build and execute a regional portfolio roadmap, identifying and presenting compelling business cases for new product versions, innovations, and enhancements
- Co-own the commercial strategy for your portfolios, including pricing recommendations, working closely with Marketing to support business growth
- Leverage market insights to identify customer pain points and develop solutions, using agile methods to gather problem-oriented feedback
- Retain and recruit authors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), with effective succession planning to maintain portfolio strength and influence
- Champion digital transformation by translating customer needs into product innovation

Go-to-Market Collaboration (35% of your time)
- Represent and promote the portfolios to regional teams, energising go-to-market colleagues around the value of your products
- Spend a minimum of 20% of each month engaging directly with the market (virtually or in person) to stay close to customer needs
- Build true partnerships with Sales and Marketing, contributing to positioning, messaging, and target customer strategy
Data-Driven Decisions & Execution (15% of your time)
- Use business intelligence tools to monitor product and portfolio performance across the lifecycle, intervening proactively where needed
- Determine investment allocation across the portfolio using data and analytical tools
- Liaise with colleagues across International to align on product release programmes and maximise adaptation and promotion opportunities

- Strategic thinking: you can see the big picture while managing the detail, balancing long-term portfolio vision with day-to-day execution
- Agility and adaptability: you thrive in a fast-moving environment and embrace change as an opportunity

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
- Experience in product management, publishing, EdTech, or the broader education industry
- Strong market research and analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable decisions
- Demonstrated financial acumen and understanding of how to develop business plans or commercial cases
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and deliver projects on time
- General digital competency Microsoft Office, CRM systems, scheduling tools
- Familiarity with EdTech platforms and digital learning environments

The pay range for this position is between 45,000 - 48,000 GBP annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
