Portfolio Manager – Bridging Finance & Specialist Mortgages

£50,000 - £55,000 + Excellent Benefits

Our client is a leading UK specialist bank focused on providing innovative lending solutions to businesses, professional property investors and landlords. Operating within the bridging finance and specialist mortgage sector, they have built a strong reputation for delivering fast, flexible finance alongside exceptional customer service.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to join their Bridging Finance team.

The Role

As a Portfolio Manager, you'll manage an existing portfolio of bridging loans, acting as the primary point of contact for customers, brokers and internal stakeholders throughout the life of each facility.

Working closely with Underwriting, Credit Risk and Legal teams, you'll ensure customer requests are managed efficiently while maintaining strong credit quality and delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of bridging finance facilities throughout their lifecycle.
  • Act as the first point of contact for customers, brokers and internal colleagues.
  • Assess and process customer requests including:
    • Facility extensions
    • Consents to lease
    • Partial releases of security
    • Other post-completion amendments
  • Prepare high-quality credit papers for amendments to existing facilities.
  • Monitor facilities approaching maturity and proactively manage repayment strategies.
  • Identify early warning signs of risk and escalate concerns where appropriate.
  • Produce redemption statements and other customer documentation.
  • Maintain accurate customer records across internal systems.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

About You

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience within Bridging Finance, Specialist Mortgages or Commercial Real Estate Lending.
  • Previous portfolio management or loan servicing experience.
  • Strong credit analysis and risk assessment skills.
  • Experience preparing lending or credit proposals.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Outstanding communication skills with customers, brokers, solicitors and internal stakeholders.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A collaborative approach and strong customer focus.
