Portfolio Manager
Initial 6 month FTC, max salary - £50,000 (pro-rata), 2-3 days onsite in Central London required per week.
We are currently looking for a Portfolio Manager to join a not-for-profit organisation, based in London. You will report to the Director of IT and lead a team of 19, overseeing a portfolio of 25 active IT change and technology projects, with governance and oversight across a wider portfolio of 150 initiatives. The portfolio includes a range of hardware and software upgrades and enhancements, including CRM, customer experience (CX), telephony, infrastructure and digital service improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee a portfolio of approximately 150 projects, with 25 active projects being delivered simultaneously.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio roadmap, providing clear visibility of priorities, dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines.
- Establish and drive effective portfolio governance, reporting, and delivery processes.
- Lead portfolio planning and prioritisation activities to ensure strategic objectives are met.
- Provide oversight across a varied project landscape including technology and business change initiatives such as:
- Telephony upgrades
- CRM enhancements/upgrades
- Infrastructure and estate-wide technology projects
- Software and hardware implementations
- Support Project Managers in transitioning from project-focused delivery to a more strategic portfolio approach.
- Monitor project performance through data-driven metrics, KPIs, and portfolio reporting.
- Ensure delivery milestones and deadlines are achieved through proactive stakeholder engagement and challenge.
- Facilitate structured conversations with stakeholders to remove blockers and drive decisions.
- Maintain oversight of a team of approximately 19 people, ensuring alignment and effective delivery across the portfolio.
