The Role
This is a Client Portfolio Manager position within the Systematic team at a global hedge fund, based in London. The team provides specialist knowledge of systematic investment strategies and works closely with clients and internal business partners including research, risk, sales, marketing, legal and compliance, and middle office.
Key Responsibilities
- Articulate complex systematic investment concepts clearly to clients and internal parties.
- Take responsibility for innovative projects, including planning, organising timelines, and managing deliverables.
- Represent systematic investment strategies with investors.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to answer technical questions from clients and internal stakeholders.
- Interact with internal teams including research, marketing, and sales.
- Analyse proposal requirements with sales and other stakeholders, and review documentation to identify client and prospect objectives.

Skills & Experience
- Strong academic background with a substantial mathematical, statistical, or computing component preferred — for example, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics.
- 5 or more years of relevant experience in systematic investment strategies is preferred; the global hedge fund states it will consider candidates with a range of experience levels, as roles can be tailored to match skills and expertise.
- Background in quantitative techniques and investment strategies preferred.
- Proficiency in Python, Matlab, or R is desirable; candidates willing to develop coding skills are also welcomed.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong reasoning ability to understand and explain quantitative investment strategies.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accuracy with limited supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and produce quality work under time constraints.
