US Equities Portfolio Manager – Systematic MFT
Location: Global (All Major Financial Hubs or Fully Remote)
Company: Tier 1 Systematic $20b+ AUM Hedge Fund
Venture Search is partnering with one of the world’s leading systematic investment platforms, backed by a global multi-strategy hedge fund with $20bn+ AUM and a decades-long track record across the financial markets.
The firm’s systematic business is a significant institutional platform, with hundreds of professionals globally and dedicated teams building and deploying computer-driven strategies across liquid asset classes. The platform combines the entrepreneurialism of individual investment teams with the capital, technology, data and research resources of a world-class global hedge fund.
This is a global mandate for an exceptional US Equities Portfolio Manager to bring and scale a proven systematic strategy within an established, highly sophisticated infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in fully systematic, medium-frequency US equities, with $20m+ in annual PnL highly preferred.
The Opportunity
This is not a research-only role. The successful PM will have genuine ownership of their investment strategy, with responsibility spanning alpha generation, portfolio construction, execution, risk, and ongoing strategy development.
The firm is particularly interested in PMs who have built strategies from the ground up and have demonstrated the ability to generate significant, persistent, and scalable returns.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
