Portfolio Manager – Systematic Trading Strategies (Agricultural Commodities)
We're seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to design and scale systematic trading strategies across global agricultural markets. This role is perfect for candidates who merge deep knowledge of agricultural commodity fundamentals with a quantitative mindset.
You will develop differentiated alpha by integrating supply-demand dynamics, weather, satellite imagery, logistics, positioning, and alternative data into systematic trading models. This work will closely collaborate with quantitative researchers, engineers, and data specialists, offering significant autonomy to shape research direction, portfolio construction, and execution.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage systematic trading strategies across global agricultural markets
- Generate alpha by blending fundamental research with quantitative modeling and statistical analysis
- Build predictive models using:
- Weather trends
- Crop conditions data
- Satellite imagery
- Freight logistics flows
- Inventory-level positioning
- Alternate datasets and macroeconomic signals
- Design and test new trading signals via rigorous research, backtesting, and performance evaluation
- Continuously refine portfolio construction, risk allocation, and execution efficiency
- Collaborate with quantitative developers to productionize trading models and build scalable systems
- Spend the entire research lifecycle—from concept development to live deployment and ongoing monitoring

Core Requirements
- Deep expertise in agricultural commodities, covering:
- Supply-demand dynamics
- Seasonality, logistics, and weather impacts
- Global trade flows
- 3+ years of relevant experience managing or researching systematic strategies in commodities
- Strong quantitative background, with experience applying:
- Statistical analysis
- Machine learning
- Financial market modeling
- Fluency in Python and ability to analyze large datasets efficiently
- Experience creating systematic investing strategies (not just discretionary trading)
- Solid grasp of portfolio construction, risk management, and systematic execution
- Intellectual curiosity and appetite for innovative alpha-generation techniques

Nice-to-Have Experience
- Trading experience in multiple commodity sectors
- Familiarity with:
- Alternative datasets
- Remote sensing & satellite analytics
- Geospatial software
- Hands-on experience with ML-based commodity forecasting techniques
- Experience designing proprietary research infrastructure or production trading systems
- Graduate degree in quantitative fields (math, finance, economics, applied stats)
- Proven track record with external or proprietary capital management
