Portfolio Oversight Analyst – Regulatory Reporting & Investment Compliance

Artisan Partners Limited Partnership is seeking a Portfolio Oversight Analyst – Regulatory Reporting & Investment Compliance. Based in Europe, the Analyst will have primary responsibility for the operational oversight of MiFIR transaction and post-trade transparency reporting and UK and EU EMIR derivatives reporting. The role will oversee reporting processes and controls, investigate and resolve exceptions, and partner with Legal, Compliance, Technology, and external providers to support accurate and timely regulatory reporting.

The Analyst will also develop expertise across the team’s broader investment compliance and trading support responsibilities, including investment guideline rule coding, compliance monitoring, and portfolio exposure reviews. Following training, the Analyst will be expected to operate independently across assigned responsibilities and develop into a subject matter expert for European regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

The candidate is expected to:

  • Oversee day-to-day MiFIR transaction and post-trade transparency reporting, monitoring submissions to the regulatory reporting provider, confirming successful processing and onward reporting, and resolving rejected, missing, delayed, or inaccurate reports
  • Reconcile UK and EU EMIR trade repository data to internal books and records, investigate breaks, and drive resolution with counterparties and internal stakeholders
  • Own regulatory reporting exception tracking and escalation, maintaining clear status and aging and ensuring timely communication with internal stakeholders and clients, as appropriate
  • Lead root-cause analysis of recurring reporting issues and partner with Technology, data teams, and external providers to improve data quality, mappings, processes, and controls
  • Partner with UK and US Legal and Compliance on regulatory developments affecting MiFIR and EMIR and support updates to procedures, testing, and operational controls as requirements evolve
  • Develop expertise in client investment guidelines, regulatory limits, compliance rule coding, and security reference data to support trading desks during European market hours
  • Review overnight and batch compliance results for assigned investment strategies, investigating alerts and resolving or escalating issues in accordance with internal procedures
  • Perform recurring portfolio exposure reviews across assigned strategies, investigate material deviations, and coordinate follow-up with traders and other stakeholders
  • Support account setup, portfolio compliance inquiries, and other recurring Portfolio Oversight controls as expertise across the team’s broader responsibilities develops
  • Contribute to projects and process improvements across Portfolio Oversight and Trade Operations

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in investment management, regulatory reporting, trade operations, investment compliance, or a related function
  • Hands-on experience with MiFIR transaction reporting, post-trade transparency reporting, and/or EMIR derivatives reporting; experience across both MiFIR and EMIR strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience investigating regulatory reporting exceptions, reconciliations, and data quality issues through resolution
  • Strong understanding of securities trading and investment operations; experience with equities, fixed income, and derivatives preferred
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated ability to independently assess, prioritize, and resolve time-sensitive issues
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across Trading, Legal, Compliance, Technology, counterparties, and external service providers
  • High attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage recurring responsibilities alongside unplanned, time-sensitive issues
  • Ability and willingness to develop expertise in client investment guidelines, compliance rule coding, security reference data, and the broader responsibilities of the Portfolio Oversight team
  • Experience with Aladdin by BlackRock strongly preferred
  • Experience with security reference data, instrument identifiers, and front-to-back investment data flows preferred
  • Experience using SQL within Snowflake or a similar data environment and familiarity with Python for data analysis preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Availability to support European trading hours and occasional cross-region coordination outside standard local business hours
