Role Summary
The Portfolio Specialist is part of the Investment Division and is a key member of the investment team. The position is a critical link between portfolio management, distribution, clients, and broader business partners. It requires deep investment expertise, strong commercial judgement, and close collaboration with portfolio managers to help position, represent, and develop our capabilities.
In partnership with the PMs, the Portfolio Specialist acts as the strategic lead for the investment messaging across assigned strategies. The role is both investment-led and client facing, where the Portfolio Specialist coordinates the success of potential opportunities by working closely with a team of portfolio analysts, institutional writers, RfP editors and other associates, as well as playing a key role with the asset retention of existing clients.
The role requires the ability to drive high-impact engagements with clients and prospects to better understand their specific needs and propose potential solutions around existing capabilities, and to translate insights into clear, compelling messages for clients, prospects, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
For this position, the Portfolio Specialist will lead the promotion of a range of US Growth-oriented Equity strategies as well as Global Tech equity strategies in EMEA. It will require at the onset a commercial mindset and a willingness to educate our clients on our investment approach, to service a large book of investors, as well as being able to present our capabilities both internally and externally.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
