Company Description
The Willand site is part of the UK Poultry division in 2 Sisters Food Group.
Willand has around 1000 employees and has been open and processing for over 100 years. Many of our colleagues have developed from Production to Management, indeed our Willand Site Director was once a Production Operative. We have succession plans, excellent training and every employee will love our site activities from a free summer BBQ served by our Managers, to competitions.
The wider division employs over 8,500 people working in a chilled environment to process poultry products for consumers via major retailers.
Job Description
We have a number of opportunities available in our factory in Willand, which has been continually processing for over 100 years.
The rate for our Portions Production Operative role is: £12.71 per hour
The shift pattern for this role is Monday - Friday 05:30am -14:30pm with an early finish on Tuesday at 13:30pm. This will give you every weekend off.

You'll join our Chicken Portions department and your role will include the following duties:
- Processing and packing raw chicken breasts
- Ensuring packaging and weight meet customer specifications
- Having high standards in Food Safety and Health and Safety
- Working with a multi-cultural team of enthusiastic employees.

We have AM and PM vacancies for this position.
Qualifications
No experience will be required just come with a "Can do" attitude. We'll provide you with full training in Food Safety, Quality, Health and Safety, the processing of raw chicken breasts, and how we meet our various customer requirements.

Product quality is everyone’s responsibility, and the highest standards of quality must be maintained throughout all stages of the manufacturing process.
In your specific role this includes carrying out tasks in line with documented procedures and ensuring the products that we produce meet customer specifications.

You will consistently refer to the relevant customer specification sheets to ensure that the portions / products that are being packed are in accordance with the agreed weight and size parameters and that there are no visible quality issues with the product e.g. excessive bruising, poor cutting standards, bone fragments, or excess fat.
You are responsible for identifying and reporting any product defects or deviations to specifications and removing those products from the line. This should also include a root cause analysis to help identify what caused the quality issue. You will also coach others to ensure they fully understand and adhere to the relevant customer specification sheets.

Compensation: up to GBP 12.71 - hourly
