Thursday City Rep | Portsmouth | TONIGHT

Thursday is looking for an outgoing, friendly person to join us as our Portsmouth City Rep for tonight’s event.

About Thursday

Thursday is on a mission to get people off dating apps and back into the real world. Our events are simple: just a bar, everyone single. Guests come along, often on their own, grab a drink and meet people naturally. We’re looking for someone confident, approachable, and sociable who can help make the event feel welcoming, relaxed, and fun.

  • Encourage guests to mingle naturally
  • Keep an eye out for anyone who looks nervous or left out
  • Liaise with the venue team throughout the evening

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Once everyone is checked in, the role is mainly about being present, social, and making sure people are having a good time.

Who We Are Looking For

💬 You don’t need previous event-hosting experience. What matters most is that you’re:

  • Friendly and confident talking to strangers
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Comfortable being the first person guests meet
  • Naturally outgoing and sociable
  • Able to take initiative
  • Professional when dealing with guests and the venue
  • Someone who genuinely enjoys being around people

A lot of our guests arrive alone and can be nervous, so being warm and approachable is a huge part of the role.

Why Thursday?

❤️ Dating shouldn’t happen exclusively through a screen. We’re building a world where meeting someone in real life feels normal again. Our events aren’t about forcing people into awkward conversations or traditional speed dating. They’re about creating the right environment for people to relax, have a drink, meet new people, and see what happens.

If you’re the kind of person who can walk into a room of strangers and make people feel comfortable, we’d love to hear from you.
