PBS Lead

Grade: SO1

Annual Salary: £34,434 to £36,363 (national pay award pending)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Interview: Interviews will be held week commencing 24th August

Are you passionate about breaking down barriers to support people to live a more independent and fulfilling life?

We are currently looking for a highly motivated person to join our highly successful, and growing insert name of team/service team.

The successful candidate will be the PBS Lead for My Options, overseeing the implementation and embedding of PBS frameworks across the entire service, supporting all services apply this framework, helping them to understand why behaviours happen (functional assessment), supporting with the creation of PBS plans, teaching alternative skills leading to proactive, non restrictive approaches that lead to an improved quality of life for the Individuals we support, and providing crisis support and intervention.

You will also be the team leader for one element of our supported living services, that focuses on those Individuals with the most complex behaviours that challenge. To ensure the consistent delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care.

You will be able to demonstrate being proactive and innovative in your approach to care and a willingness to adapt and change as we develop to meet new opportunities.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Someone who really wants to make a positive difference.
  • Someone with a PBS qualification or relevant professional qualification (e.g. psychology, social care, applied behaviour analysis)
  • Recognised health or social; care qualification eg NVQ 4 in health and or social care or equivalent.
  • Experience in applying Positive Behaviour Support in social care settings
  • Strong knowledge of functional assessment and behaviour support planning
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (CQC, MCA, safeguarding)
  • Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills
  • Experience in reducing restrictive practices within services
  • Someone who is committed to the role as the individuals we support, and their families, depend on the service we provide.
  • Someone who is proactive and creative, and prepared to think beyond the obvious to meet the needs of the people we’re supporting to deliver an amazing service.
  • Someone who is flexible and adaptable, to continually develop and improve our drive to embed PBS across our entire service, with the ability to adapt very quickly to the service’s changing needs.
  • Someone who is committed to personal development, both for their personal benefit and to benefit the young people they’re supporting.

About Us

My Options - Activity Wellbeing and Care Services is part of Telford & Wrekin Council and provides a wide range of person-centred support to over 350 vulnerable people of all ages and abilities.

We currently provide a wide range of services including; Day Services, Support Living for those people living in their own or shared accommodation, Shared Lives, Supported Accommodation and Supported Lodgings.
