We are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and adaptable Post 16 Mentor to join our growing Alternative Provision team. This is an exciting opportunity to support young people aged 16–25 to develop confidence, independence, and the skills they need to achieve positive outcomes.
Working within a supportive and passionate team, you will deliver personalized mentoring alongside Functional Skills education, helping learners overcome barriers and prepare for employment, further education, and independent living.
About the Role
As a Post 16 Mentor you will:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group mentoring sessions.
- Plan and deliver engaging Functional Skills learning.
- Support learners to gain nationally recognised AQA Unit Awards.
- Help young people develop confidence, resilience, independence, and life skills.
- Record learner progress and contribute to reviews and reports.
- Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and partner agencies.
- Promote safeguarding, inclusion, and positive wellbeing at all times.
- Support young people to access meaningful learning opportunities within the community.

About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young people, particularly those with additional needs or who have experienced barriers to education.
- Can build positive professional relationships and inspire confidence.
- Has experience delivering learning, mentoring, coaching, or youth support.
- Understands trauma-informed and person-centred approaches.
- Has excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Is flexible, proactive, and enjoys working as part of a supportive team.

Experience within Alternative Provision, SEND, youth work, education, or social care would be advantageous but is not essential.

Safeguarding
Chill'd CIC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and pre-employment checks.
The role is for 35 hours per week for 39 weeks a year. Pay is averaged over 12 equal monthly payments. Holiday’s must be taken outside of term time.
