Post Details
Post is available from August 2026 for a period of 6 to 12 months offering advanced sub-specialist training in Paediatric Anaesthesia.
Location
The post is based at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow: a leading Paediatric training centre in the UK with access to all specialities including cardiac, craniofacial, neurosurgery, complex airway, cleft and pain, in addition to a high neonatal workload.
Opportunities
- Sub-interests in simulation teaching, wellbeing and eco-anaesthesia are now being offered with dedicated SPA time.
- Research, audit and quality improvement are encouraged.
This is an exciting and challenging clinical post for those wishing to have a major interest in paediatric anaesthesia in the future, be it in a tertiary centre or district general hospital.
Tailoring
Fellowship can be tailored to accommodate special interests.
Requirements
Applicants MUST hold Certificate of Completion of Specialist training in Anaesthesia or equivalent on starting the post. These posts are not suitable for applicants wishing to pursue the MTI route.

Recruitment Process

- This post may close early to the volume of response. Please submit your application form as soon as possible.
- Applicants who have not undertaken a UK foundation programme within 3.5 years of the advertised post start date, you may be asked to submit a Certificate of Readiness to Enter Specialty Training (CREST). The CREST form must be completed by a consultant who has worked with you for a minimum continuous period of three months whole-time equivalent wholly within the 3.5 years prior to the advertised post start date for which you are applying.
