We seek a dynamic Post Office and Banking Hub Manager to manage with vision and impact.

Hailsham Town Council is proud to serve the people of Hailsham, delivering and enabling a range of services to residents and visitors - from parks, allotments and cemeteries to events, community centres, Youth Service and of course, Hailsham Post Office.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Post Office and Banking Hub services, which include: selling stamps and weighing/charging for letters, packets and parcels; dealing with a range of financial services, including banking, foreign currency, a variety of insurance products and travel services; accepting payment for a wide variety of bills, such as electricity, gas and water bills; issuing vehicle tax and dealing with motor vehicle registrations; dealing with passport and driving licence applications; ensuring a profitable, safe and customer-focused operation.
  • Lead and inspire the Post Office and Banking Hub teams to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure all post office duties, rotas and overtime are covered.
  • Liaise with the Post Office, Cash Access UK and other appropriate organisations to ensure the smooth operation of postal services and to comply with Post Office and Banking Hub rules and regulations.
  • Ensure that financial, operational policies and other procedures are followed, ensuring effective, efficient and safe environment and systems.
  • Ensure appropriate stocking and pricing in line with policies and annual plans.
  • Ensure the effective promotion of the Post Office and Banking Hubs.
  • Create a customer service-led culture which is always seeking to improve performance and to deliver a professional, friendly service to all customers.
  • Maximise opportunities to grow sales and increase footfall throughout the Post Office and Banking Hub.
  • Ensure the Post Office branch is fully compliant with current legislation and Post Office Ltd. and that all staff are up to date with current compliance and training requirements.
  • Work to agreed budgets and targets.
