About The Role

Postdoctoral Research Associate INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

This MS Alliance funded part-time (0.2 FTE) post is available from 01 October 2026 on a until 30 September 2028. This post is offered as a fixed term contract and is funded by MS Alliance until 30 September 2028.

Salary will be £34,610 (pro rata) on Grade E subject to knowledge, skills and experience.

The Role

Faculty of Health and Life Sciences

The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the work of Prof. Helen Dawes. The successful applicant will be part of an exciting collaborative, international project - the Can - PRIME MS study which will look at exercise and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) priming to improve rehabilitation success in people with progressive multiple sclerosis (MS).

The post will include

  • Delivering required research project activities including interventions for people with MS
  • Contributing to the planning of research projects, including preparation of ethics submissions
  • Dealing with problems which may affect the achievement of research objectives and deadlines
  • Writing up research work for publication

About You

The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes.
