Postdoctoral Research Scientist
Location: Remote
Engagement Type: Hourly Contract (Part-Time)
Compensation: $60–$90/hour
About the Opportunity
This opportunity is for STEM PhD researchers and postdoctoral scientists interested in contributing to advanced AI research and evaluation projects. The role involves applying deep subject-matter expertise to develop research-level problems, technical analyses, and high-quality reference solutions that improve the reasoning, accuracy, and scientific depth of next-generation AI systems.
You will leverage your academic and research experience to evaluate complex scientific and engineering challenges while helping shape the future of AI.
Ideal Qualifications
- PhD in a STEM discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related field.
- Strong academic and research background with experience solving complex, research-level problems.
- Demonstrated expertise within your area of specialization.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to technical accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage research tasks in a remote environment.

Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality, domain-specific problems based on your academic and research expertise.
- Create rigorous reference solutions, technical analyses, and detailed explanations for complex scientific and engineering problems.
- Review and evaluate AI-generated responses for accuracy, reasoning, completeness, and technical quality.
- Identify errors, gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve AI-generated outputs.
- Collaborate with AI researchers and subject-matter experts to refine technical content and evaluation standards.
- Contribute high-quality research data that improves the reasoning, accuracy, and problem-solving capabilities of advanced AI models.

Project Details
- Start Date: Immediate, with rolling applications.
- Duration: 1–2 months, with potential for extension.
- Commitment: 10–20 hours per week, with flexibility to work up to 40 hours per week.
- Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous.
Compensation
- Competitive compensation of $65–$100/hour.
