Job Description:
This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track two-year position through 12/31/28. This is a 2-year, term limited postdoctoral appointment with no expectation of continuation beyond the stated end date.
Work Location: LSU Main Campus, Baton Rouge, LA
Position Description: A two-year, grant-funded post-doctoral researcher is needed to oversee field, greenhouse, and laboratory research activities into management strategies for the invasive pasture mealybug, Heliococcus novovillei, in sugarcane. The position is full-time in the LSU Department of Entomology on the main campus in Baton Rouge, but will require travel to research field sites in other regions of the state. The tentative start date is January 1, 2027 though earlier starts may be accommodated. The post-doc will be expected to work independently to design experiments, collect and analyze data, and publish and present results. Research activities include toxicological assays, field demonstration trials, and remote sensing. The post-doc will also supervise and instruct summer field assistants and facilitate graduate student research.
Qualification Requirements: A PhD in Entomology or other agricultural field is required. Possession of a valid driver's license is required. Diverse IPM research experience including work in agricultural research settings is desired. Applicants with experience researching plant-insect interactions, insecticides, and insect ecology is preferred.

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. The LSU AgCenter has an attractive benefits package with a wide variety of benefit options.
