About Us

The Sustainability Research Institute (SRI) is a leading centre for real-world sustainable innovation. Since 2001, we have delivered an extensive portfolio of publicly funded research projects, consultancy work, and international collaborations that support the transition to a low-carbon, resilient and environmentally responsible future.

Our Research Spans Three Key Areas

  • Blue/Green Infrastructure: restoring, managing and protecting nature-based assets in urban and rural environments
  • Sustainable Materials and Resources: developing materials and technologies that reduce emissions and improve performance
  • Sustainable Society: empowering local communities, organisations and policymakers to participate in sustainability transitions

SRI is home to a diverse, interdisciplinary team of academics, research staff, students and external partners. We focus on applied innovation, turning science into meaningful environmental and societal impact.

About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and innovative Postdoctoral Researcher to lead cutting-edge research into microgrid systems, clean energy integration and sustainable electricity solutions. You will play a pivotal role in developing and scaling the London Renewable Energy Demonstrator Lab (LREL), a flagship initiative combining solar, wind, battery storage and next-generation digital and modelling tools.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
