Company Description
Working as a partnership, both Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust have a shared vision for excellence in care for our patients and communities; with a set of strategic aims underpinning how we will achieve this.
The single corporate service is delivered across both organisations. You may be based at either IWT or PHU and individuals may be required to undertake business travel between sites. For leaders managing staff across multi-site locations, you will need to be visible and provide in person leadership. The arrangements and frequency will be agreed locally.
Job Description

NHS Band 4 Salary: £28,392 - £31,157 pro rata per annum
(actual salary: £22,713 - £24,925 per annum)
Hours Per Week: Part time 30 hrs (Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 4.30pm)
Contract Type: Permanent
Location Base: St Mary's Hospital, Parkhurst Road, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 5TG
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Postgraduate Medical Education Team for a highly organised and enthusiastic Postgraduate Administrator.
Working within the Education Centre, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of postgraduate medical education across the Isle of Wight. The role includes coordinating foundation training programmes, organising teaching events, maintaining trainee records and e-portfolios, supporting educational supervisors and trainees, and providing administrative support to the Medical Education team.

- Has excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Is confident using Microsoft Office and a range of computer systems
- Can manage competing priorities and work on their own initiative
- Has strong communication skills and enjoys building positive working relationships
- Delivers a professional and responsive customer-focused service.
Job Statement
To administer all aspects of Foundation Training including the E portfolio system
Deal with enquiries from trainees and trainers
To develop and maintain communications with stakeholders both internally and externally, ensuring that all communications are cascaded in a timely fashion.
Working on their own initiative, problem solve and make decisions without reference on a regular basis
To provide administration support for the Director of Medical Education
To undertake a range of administrative and supportive duties as identified by the Medical Education Manager.
This post forms part of the Single Corporate Services arrangement supporting both Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, although the role will be based on the Isle of Wight.

Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration or equivalent
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Confident in use of Microsoft Office and a range of computer systems
- Can manage competing priorities and work on their own initiative
- Has strong communication skills and enjoys building positive working relationships
- Delivers a professional and responsive customer-focused service.

Desirable
- Customer Care Qualification Desirable
- Minimum of 2 years recent office experience, NHS Supporting an education function
