About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Poultry Compliance Manager to join our Agriculture team at Pilgrim's Europe.
This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, food safety, legal compliance, and biosecurity are maintained across our agricultural operations. Acting as the technical expert within the Agriculture function, you will work closely with farmers, veterinarians, customers, and industry bodies to support continuous improvement and deliver best practice across our poultry supply chain.
You'll play a key role in ensuring our farms meet both company and customer expectations, while supporting innovation, compliance, and performance across the business.
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide expert technical support and guidance to growers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with legal, customer, and company requirements relating to animal welfare, food safety, hygiene, and biosecurity.
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of agricultural HACCP systems.
- Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with customer Codes of Practice and legislative requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of technical strategies across the agricultural business.
- Promote and uphold the highest standards of poultry welfare across all sites.
- Work closely with company veterinarians to support health plans, antibiotic stewardship programmes, AI licences, and welfare initiatives.
- Maintain and review agricultural testing schedules and Salmonella monitoring programmes.
- Track and analyse animal health and welfare data to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Implement and manage supplier assurance activities across livestock, breeding, feed mills, disinfectants, and sanitiser suppliers.
- Conduct risk assessments and audits against company standards and codes of practice.
- Ensure robust systems are in place for monitoring compliance throughout the agricultural supply chain.
- Monitor and report technical performance through Agriculture KPIs.
- Develop transparent reporting systems for microbiological and chemical testing results.
- Support agriculture-based R&D projects and technical improvement initiatives.
- Translate scientific and industry research into practical recommendations, technical bulletins, and presentations.
- Build strong relationships with farmers, customers, regulatory bodies, suppliers, academic institutions, and industry groups.
- Represent Pilgrim's Europe at external meetings, industry events, and customer engagements.
- Support the implementation of new legislation, standards, and industry best practices.

What We're Looking For
- Technical management experience within animal welfare, agriculture, or poultry production
- Experience auditing agricultural systems and driving compliance improvement
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to analyse data, identify risks, and implement practical solutions
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
Degree Qualified In
- Animal Science
- Animal Welfare
- Agriculture
- Veterinary Science
- Zoology or a related discipline
