Kinetic Recruitment are supporting a well-established and growing manufacturing business in St Helens with the recruitment of a Permanent Powder Coating / Paint Plant Operative. The successful candidate will join a manufacturing business specialising in bespoke equipment for the telecoms networks and will be responsible for preparing, powder coating and inspecting components before they progress to the next stage of production.
This role would suit an experienced Powder Coater or Paint Plant Operative who is used to working on a production paint line and can work from technical drawings and job specifications.
The Role:
As a Powder Coating / Paint Plant Operative, your duties will include:
- Powder coating components using handheld powder coating guns.
- Operating the automatic paint line in accordance with set procedures.
- Preparing, masking and hanging components ready for painting.
- Reading technical drawings and job tickets to ensure components are prepared to the required specification.
- Selecting and using appropriate hooks and jigs to ensure components are correctly positioned on the paint line.
- Loading and unloading components from the paint line.
- Inspecting finished products for quality, coverage and defects.
- Recording and reporting quality issues where required.
- Handling and storing materials safely.
- Moving components safely into and out of the paint plant.
- Maintaining a clean and organised working area.
- Following company Health & Safety, quality and production procedures.

What We Are Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience in powder coating, paint spraying or a manufacturing paint plant environment.
- Experience working with a powder coating gun or paint line.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Ability to follow job tickets, specifications and production instructions.
- Experience preparing and masking components for painting.
- Good attention to detail, particularly when inspecting finished products.
- Ability to work as part of a production team.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment.
- Reliable attendance and a consistent approach to work.
Desirable:
- Experience working with an automatic powder coating/paint line.
- Experience using hooks, jigs and fixtures to prepare components for coating.
- Previous experience working with bespoke or engineered components.

- Stable working hours with an early finish on Fridays.
Location
The role is based in St Helens, so applicants must have a reliable means of getting to the site for the required start time.
Please note: Previous powder coating, paint plant or closely related manufacturing experience is essential for this position.
