Role Description
The Powder Coater is responsible for preparing and finishing metal components used in data centre infrastructure products, ensuring consistent and high-quality coatings. Day-to-day tasks include surface preparation (cleaning, masking, sanding), mixing and applying powder coatings, operating spray equipment and curing ovens, and inspecting finished work against specification and quality standards. The role also includes routine equipment checks, basic maintenance, safe handling and storage of materials, and accurate completion of production records. Collaboration with production, quality, and logistics teams to meet schedules and support continuous improvement in processes and safety practices is expected. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Cottenham.

Qualifications

- Experience with powder coating processes, including surface preparation, spraying, and curing of metal components.
- Practical skills in operating powder coating equipment, spray guns, and ovens, with an understanding of basic maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail, quality inspection skills, and ability to work to technical drawings or written specifications.
- Awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards, including safe handling of materials and use of PPE.
- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment, including manual handling and standing for extended periods.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with a reliable and organized approach to meeting production deadlines.
- Previous experience in industrial painting, metal fabrication, or similar manufacturing roles is beneficial.
- Basic numeracy and literacy; relevant vocational training or certification in coatings or manufacturing is an advantage.
