This is an opportunity to join a well-known UK retail business on a contract assignment supporting critical Financial Operations teams. You will work on a range of operational analytics projects, investigating business performance, identifying trends, and delivering insight that supports commercial decision-making across a large retail operation.
The Company
They are a major UK retailer with a complex operational and distribution network. Their Financial Operations function plays a key role in monitoring performance across stock, warehousing, deliveries, and partnerships. Due to increased demand and ongoing permanent hiring activity, they are looking to bring in experienced Contract Data Analysts to support business-critical analytical work.

The Role and Deliverables
- Analyse operational and financial operations data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities.
- Investigate stock, warehousing, delivery, partnership, and KPI performance.
- Build, maintain, and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Support planned and ad hoc business investigations, including stock take activities.
- Respond to stakeholder requests and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Translate business requirements into meaningful analytical outputs.
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to analyse and interrogate complex datasets.
- Strong Power BI experience, including reporting and dashboard development.
- Proven experience working as a Data Analyst within a commercial or operational environment.
- Experience investigating operational performance and business issues through data.
- Knowledge of warehousing, stock, inventory, or supply chain analytics.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholder requests and changing priorities.
- Retail industry experience is highly desirable.
- Python experience would be beneficial.
