Power BI Developer

Location: Reading, UK

Work Model: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in office)

Contract Duration: 6 Months, ASAP Start.

Rate: Up to £480 per day (inside IR35)

Are you an experienced Power BI Developer with a strong background in reporting, data validation, testing support, and production deployments? We're looking for a highly skilled professional to join a dynamic team delivering critical business intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and scorecards
  • Create and optimize DAX measures, KPIs, data models, and Power Query transformations
  • Integrate data from multiple sources including SQL Server, Azure, APIs, and flat files
  • Support SIT, UAT, Regression Testing, and Production Validation activities
  • Perform detailed data reconciliation, validation, and defect analysis
  • Investigate reporting issues and conduct root cause analysis
  • Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders
  • Monitor report refreshes, troubleshoot production issues, and support deployments

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service
  • Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query, Data Modelling, and SQL
  • Proven experience supporting SIT, UAT, Regression Testing, and Production Support
  • Expertise in data validation, reconciliation, and defect management
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies

  • Microsoft Power BI Certification
  • CI/CD and BI deployment experience
  • Domain experience within Utilities, Banking, Finance, Telecom, or Retail
