Power BI Developer
Location: Reading, UK
Work Model: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in office)
Contract Duration: 6 Months, ASAP Start.
Rate: Up to £480 per day (inside IR35)
Are you an experienced Power BI Developer with a strong background in reporting, data validation, testing support, and production deployments? We're looking for a highly skilled professional to join a dynamic team delivering critical business intelligence solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and scorecards
- Create and optimize DAX measures, KPIs, data models, and Power Query transformations
- Integrate data from multiple sources including SQL Server, Azure, APIs, and flat files
- Support SIT, UAT, Regression Testing, and Production Validation activities
- Perform detailed data reconciliation, validation, and defect analysis
- Investigate reporting issues and conduct root cause analysis
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders
- Monitor report refreshes, troubleshoot production issues, and support deployments

Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service
- Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query, Data Modelling, and SQL
- Proven experience supporting SIT, UAT, Regression Testing, and Production Support
- Expertise in data validation, reconciliation, and defect management
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies

Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, or SSIS
- Microsoft Power BI Certification
- CI/CD and BI deployment experience
- Domain experience within Utilities, Banking, Finance, Telecom, or Retail
