Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid Power BI Developer role based in Leeds for our client, with the flexibility to work from home part of the week. The Power BI Developer will design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that support data-driven decision-making for internal stakeholders and clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Gathering requirements
  • Modeling data
  • Building visualizations
  • Optimizing report performance

The role involves collaborating with consultants and business users to translate business questions into effective BI solutions, ensuring data accuracy, usability, and clear presentation. The developer will also support data governance, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of BI processes and standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong Power BI development skills, including data modeling, DAX, and building interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL for querying, transforming, and validating data.
  • Ability to gather and translate business requirements into technical BI solutions, with a focus on usability and stakeholder needs.
  • Knowledge of data visualization best practices and experience presenting complex information in clear, concise formats.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with attention to data quality and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working in cross-functional and client-facing environments.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid setting, managing time and priorities across office-based and home-based work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with other BI or analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power Query, Azure services) is beneficial.
  • Prior experience in consulting or professional services, and familiarity with project-based work, is an advantage.
