Role: Power-BI/PowerPlatform Architect
Duration: 3 Months
Location: London, UK (London, Hybrid with 1-2 days a week in London Bridge office)

Role Summary
Experienced Power BI / Power Platform Solution Architect to design, develop, and deliver modern analytics and reporting solutions using Microsoft Power Products, with a strong focus on Power BI, Power Query, Power Pivot, and data modelling. The candidate will play a key role in migrating existing BI solutions from legacy or alternative BI platforms to Power BI, ensuring solutions are scalable, performant, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards. The role requires strong hands-on technical capability, experience with Snowflake-based data platforms, and the ability to engage confidently with business stakeholders, data teams, architects, and senior technology stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop end-to-end BI and analytics solutions using Power BI, Power Query, Power Pivot, DAX, and Microsoft Power Platform components.
- Define scalable Power BI architectures aligned with enterprise data strategy, governance, security, and performance requirements.
- Build Power BI datasets, reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
- Lead migration from legacy BI tools to Power BI.
- Assess existing reports, dashboards, KPIs, and data models and define migration strategies.
- Design Power BI solutions leveraging Snowflake as a strategic data platform.
- Collaborate with architecture, data engineering, and business teams to define target-state solutions.
- Articulate solution options, trade-offs, risks, and benefits to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Define and promote best practices for Power BI development, governance, security, and performance optimisation.

Required Skills and Experience
- Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Advanced experience with Power Query, Power Pivot, DAX, and semantic modelling.
- Extensive experience designing enterprise-scale Power BI solutions.
- Solid understanding of dimensional modelling, star schemas, facts, dimensions, and measures.
- Experience integrating Power BI with Snowflake.
- Strong SQL and data modelling skills.
- Experience with Power BI governance, security, Row-Level Security (RLS), and deployment practices.
- Proven experience migrating solutions from BI platforms such as Tableau, Qlik, Cognos, BusinessObjects, MicroStrategy, or similar tools to Power BI.
- Experience engaging with architects, senior stakeholders, and business users.

- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand analytical requirements.
- Present solution recommendations and architectural decisions clearly and confidently.
- Explain why proposed solutions are appropriate from technical, business, governance, and operational perspectives.
- Drive adoption of best practices and modern analytics standards across the organisation.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and Git-based deployment processes.
- Experience in enterprise data transformation and cloud migration programmes.
