Company Description

HiSpeed Ltd. is a company based in Bicester, Oxfordshire, that specialises in designing, developing, and testing highly efficient compact electrical drives. The company's mission is to promote quality sustainable transportation by providing state-of-the-art, carbon-neutral electric propulsion components to eliminate transport CO2 emissions.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Power Electronics HW Engineer at HiSpeed Ltd. The role mainly involves electronics /HW design, development and testing work for power electronics products, especially traction inverters for the automotive sector. Key tasks:

  • Electronics / Power electronics circuits design: HV and LV SMPS, HV and LV Gate driving (Si & WBG), analogue and digital circuits, signal processing...etc
  • Schematics capture, footprint creation, PCB layout in Altium
  • Creation of output files for PCB manufacturing, assembly and testing
  • Management of PCB/PCBA suppliers
  • Management of HW projects in Altium
  • Testing of power electronic boards and systems

Desired experience

  • LV & HV SMPS: Flyback, Buck, Boost,Buck-Bost, SEPIC, LLC...etc
  • Gate driving HV semiconductors (IGBTs, MOSFETs, SIC MOSFETs, GAN)
  • LV electronic circuits (passive & active filters, comparators, sensing circuits, isolation circuits...etc)
  • High complexity PCB layouts (6+ layers)
  • PCB layout best practices for EMC, signal integrity. DFM, DFT, DFA
  • Full lifecycle HW design experience: from concept to manufacturing
  • Previous experience with design of HV automotive power electronic systems.
  • HW level implications of ISO 26262
  • Previous experience with board level testing
  • Previous experience with testing HV components
  • Previous experience with EMC testing (CISPR 25, ECE Reg 10)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
