Join BT as a Power Engineer
Location: Bournemouth, Exeter, Southampton or Plymouth
Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you will be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

This job role can be based in Bournemouth, Exeter Southampton or Plymouth, Onsite (5 days office based). Monday-Friday 37.5 hours. DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.
What You'll Be Doing
- Accountable: Establishes technical objectives and delegates responsibilities.
- Leadership: Influences a significant part of own organisation and influences customers/suppliers and industry at a senior management level (e.g. around resourcing of delivery teams and technical direction of work).
- Leadership: Directs work resourcing, owns site issues and resolution of problems
- Leadership: Performs technical coaching and mentoring
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of Transmission Network and management platforms
- Network installation, integration, and testing.
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple concurrent projects, perform under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to work with stakeholders to clearly capture requirements.
- Good relationship management skills with a dedicated and positive attitude
What We'd Like To See On Your CV
- Installation in compliance with the UK Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and associated regulations to ensure the site provides a system to support the availability requirements of the equipment.
- Upgrade and decommission of Mechanical & Electrical equipment.
- Perform ongoing maintenance and repair of Mechanical & Electrical equipment installed on GSE sites. This includes reactive repair and ensuring compliance to the PPM requirements for each Mechanical & Electrical asset of the company.
- Identification and repair of any faults shown during a planned maintenance
