Power Platform Developer

We’re recruiting for Power Platform Developers here at Justice Digital, Data and Science to be part of our warm and collaborative End User Compute services (EUCS) team.
This role aligns against Software Developer from the Government Digital and Data Framework.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and implement MS Power Platform environments and solutions to enable and run user-centric, data driven applications across the Ministry of Justice.
- Act as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing platform guidance, timely updates, and expert support to MoJ business areas and end users across the digital estate.
- Using tools to automate current manual processes minimising human effort.
- Develop and support initiatives (including working with other developers and third parties) that deliver workable end-to-end solutions in Power Platform.
- Communicate with end users to provide timely and accurate information and status updates.
- Demonstrate and apply a good understanding of the latest standards and practices relevant to the role.
- Write and maintain documentation of High-Level and Low-Level Designs along with other governance processes.
- Provide informed recommendations for resolving Power Platform support tickets, using SME expertise and sound judgment while building knowledge of processes, policies and risk controls.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to optimise performance, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Delivery Managers and Technical Architects to set product direction.
- Operating in a fast-paced and Agile working environment.

Person Specification
Essential
- Experience working within Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience in implementing and managing Power Platforms components and solutions through Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
- Proficiency in automation and developing solutions, using Power Platform components, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Copilot Studio.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders.
- Capable of working independently in fast-paced environments.
- Have a systematic approach to problem solving.
- Ability to analyse complex requirements and design scalable, efficient solutions.
Willingness to be assessed against the requirements for SC clearance.

Salary Information
Base salary for this role is from £49,325 - £53,081 (London); £42,914 - £46,182 (National) New entrants to the Civil Service joining the MoJ are expected to start at the minimum of the pay band. Existing Civil Servants moving on a level transfer will retain their current base salary or move to the minimum of the pay band for the role, whichever is higher. Existing Civil Servants who are promoted will either move to the bottom of the new grade’s pay band or receive a 10% uplift, whichever provides the greater increase. Candidates may also be eligible for a non‑pensionable Government Digital & Data Allowance of up to £6,725 per year (London) or £8,761 (National). This is a temporary allowance, reviewed annually and may be retained, amended, or withdrawn.
