Power Platform / IT Developer
Location: Brierley Hill, West Midlands
Salary: Up to £60,000
Working pattern: Hybrid – 3–4 days per week in the office during probation, reducing to approximately 2 days per week once established
Employment: Permanent
The Opportunity
We’re working with an established professional services organisation in the West Midlands that is looking to add an experienced Power Platform / IT Developer to its internal technology team.
This is a broad development position suited to someone who enjoys more than simply working through development tickets. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of solutions, work directly with stakeholders across the business and help improve and automate key business processes.
Power Platform will form a significant part of the role, but you’ll also gain exposure to wider application development, integrations, databases and business-critical systems.
What You'll Be Doing
You’ll work closely with the wider IT team and stakeholders across the business to understand requirements and develop practical technical solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing applications using Power Apps, including Canvas and potentially Model-Driven Apps
- Building workflows and process automation using Power Automate
- Working with Dataverse, Microsoft 365 and wider business systems
- Developing and maintaining integrations using REST APIs and third-party services
- Working with SQL and relational databases, including queries and troubleshooting
- Supporting reporting solutions using Power BI
- Supporting development and extensions using .NET/C# or similar object-oriented technologies
- Investigating issues across applications, databases and integrations
- Gathering requirements and translating business problems into technical solutions
- Testing, documenting and supporting solutions through deployment and adoption
- Working with and learning VisualFiles and other business-critical systems

What We're Looking For
The core requirement is strong commercial experience with Power Apps and Power Automate.
You don’t need to tick every technical box, but experience across some of the following would be beneficial:
- Power Apps – particularly Canvas Apps
- Power Automate
- Dataverse
- SQL
- REST APIs / integrations
- Power BI
- Microsoft 365 -.NET / C#
- Model-Driven Apps
- Case-management, workflow or other business-process systems
Previous VisualFiles experience is not essential. The successful developer can learn the platform if they have strong development fundamentals and the right approach.

Technical ability is important, but this role also requires someone comfortable taking ownership of their work and communicating directly with non-technical stakeholders.
You should be someone who can understand the underlying business problem, suggest an appropriate solution and then take responsibility for delivering it.
You'll suit the role particularly well if you enjoy having autonomy, solving problems across different technologies and working on solutions from initial requirements through to development, testing and implementation.
Location & Hybrid Working
The role is based in Brierley Hill, West Midlands.
During your initial probation period, you should expect to be in the office approximately 3–4 days per week while getting to know the team, systems and wider business.
Once established, this is expected to reduce to approximately 2 days per week in the office.
Due to the location, being within a realistic commuting distance of Brierley Hill is important, and driving may be beneficial.
