Job Description
As a Power Platform & Fabric Solutions Developer, you will design, build, and govern enterprise-grade solutions across the Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft Fabric stack. You will deliver Power BI and Fabric analytics, Dataverse-backed Canvas and Model-driven applications, Power Automate workflows, and Copilot Studio solutions for business stakeholders across LEPS Strategy & Transformation.
Job Duties
- Developing Power BI semantic models, DAX measures, paginated reports, and governed workspaces.
- Building and managing Microsoft Fabric artefacts — Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2, notebooks, and pipelines.
- Architecting Dataverse tables, relationships, business rules, and security roles.
- Delivering Canvas Apps and Model-driven (Dynamics-style) Apps.
- Automating processes with Power Automate (cloud flows and, where required, desktop / RPA).
- Designing Copilot Studio agents and agentic AI workflows (topics, actions, generative answers, knowledge sources) integrated with Dataverse and SharePoint.
What Qualifies You?
- Deep, hands-on expertise across Power BI (including Fabric data management), Power Platform (Dataverse, Canvas Apps, Model-driven Apps), Power Automate, and Copilot Studio / Agentic AI.
- Strong understanding of solution ALM, environment strategy, and Entra ID-based governance.
- Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking, and excellent collaboration and communication skills.
What Steps are Next?
Interview and a short Power Platform scenario exercise (Power BI / DAX, Dataverse modelling, and a Copilot Studio agent walkthrough). 5+ years' experience required.

Typical Task Breakdown
Power BI & Microsoft Fabric
- Design and maintain Power BI semantic models, DAX measures, and reports, following governance and performance best practices.
- Build and manage Fabric artefacts — Lakehouses, Warehouses, Dataflows Gen2, notebooks, and pipelines.
- Optimise refresh, storage modes (Import / DirectQuery / Direct Lake), and workspace ALM across Dev / Test / Prod.

Power Platform – Dataverse, Canvas & Model-driven Apps
- Model Dataverse tables, columns, relationships, choices, business rules, and security roles.
- Build Canvas Apps for targeted user experiences and Model-driven Apps for structured, process-heavy scenarios.
- Manage solutions, environments, and deployment pipelines; enforce sharing via Entra ID security groups rather than direct user shares.
Power Automate – Workflow & Process Automation
- Develop cloud flows (automated, instant, scheduled) and, where required, desktop flows / RPA.
- Integrate with Dataverse, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams; implement robust error handling and telemetry.
Copilot Studio & Agentic AI
- Design and deploy Copilot Studio agents — topics, generative answers, actions, and connected knowledge sources (Dataverse, SharePoint, sites).
- Build agentic workflows that orchestrate Power Automate actions, skills, and human-in-the-loop steps.
- Apply responsible AI, content moderation, and governance patterns aligned to enterprise standards.
Governance, Collaboration & Enablement
- Contribute to the BI Governance Portal and Power Platform CoE standards (naming, documentation, ALM, DLP).
- Partner with analysts and business stakeholders on requirements, demos, and hypercare.
- Coach citizen developers and share knowledge across the LEPS DevOps team.
Interaction with Team / Team Structure / Work Environment
Based at the Larne (NI) office, the developer will collaborate closely with the Data Team, Power Platform developers, business analysts, and stakeholders across LEPS. The environment blends in-person collaboration in Larne with regular virtual working alongside global colleagues in the US and India, using Teams and shared development tooling.
Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience Required
- Years of experience: Minimum 5 years delivering enterprise solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform and Power BI, with recent hands-on Fabric and Copilot Studio experience.
- Degree requirement: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Internships as experience: Full-time experience preferred.
- Comparable prior titles: Power Platform Developer, BI Developer / Analyst, Analytics Engineer, Dynamics 365 Developer, Solutions Architect (Power Platform).

- Proficiency in both Canvas Apps (delegation, patterns, responsive design) and Model-driven Apps (forms, views, business process flows, dashboards).
- Power Automate at scale: error handling, concurrency, expressions, HTTP / custom connectors, approval patterns.
- Copilot Studio: topics, generative answers, actions, knowledge sources, plugin actions, publishing to Teams / M365; understanding of agentic orchestration patterns.
- Solution ALM: managed vs unmanaged solutions, Power Platform Pipelines / Azure DevOps, environment governance.
- Strong grasp of governance, DLP, and role-based access via Entra ID security groups.
Additional Technical Skills (Desired)
- Workable knowledge of Snowflake and SQL — beneficial for integrating Fabric / Power BI with existing enterprise data sources.
- Microsoft certifications such as PL-400, PL-600, DP-600 / DP-700, or MB-series (Dynamics 365).
- Experience with generative AI / LLMs, prompt engineering, and responsible AI practices.
- Familiarity with PowerShell, PAC CLI, GitHub / Azure DevOps, and CI/CD for Power Platform.
- Exposure to RPA (Power Automate Desktop) and enterprise process automation.

- No practical experience with solution ALM, governance, or Entra ID-based sharing.
