Power Systems Engineer β Electrical Engineering

Iβm recruiting for a Power Systems Engineer to join a dedicated specialist Power Systems team within a well-established and growing Building Services & Low Carbon Engineering Consultancy.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer with experience in power systems, electrical distribution and network modelling who wants exposure to technically challenging projects across a wide variety of sectors.
You'll work on everything from LV and HV distribution networks through to embedded generation, substations, protection studies and resilient power systems.
The role:
- β‘ Electrical distribution network design from LV up to 132kV
- π 230V / 400V / 11kV electrical infrastructure design
- π Distribution substation and cable network design
- π» Network modelling and simulation
- π Load flow and fault level analysis
- π‘ Protection, selectivity and grading studies
- β οΈ Arc Flash assessments and harmonic analysis
- π± Embedded generation projects including G99 applications
- β‘ Substation earthing design
- π Standby generation and resilient network design
- π€ Liaising and negotiating with DNOs on new connections and capacity upgrades
- π Producing technical reports, specifications and drawings
- π Site surveys, commissioning support and installation inspections
- π₯ Providing specialist power systems advice to wider engineering teams

What I'm looking for:
- β Degree in Power Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- β Previous experience within an electrical/power systems engineering environment
- β Experience designing LV/HV electrical distribution networks
- β Experience with ETAP, IPSA+, ERACS, PowerFactory, Trimble, ElectricalOM or similar
- β AutoCAD experience essential
- β Revit advantageous but not essential
- β Understanding of load flow, fault level and protection studies
- β Embedded generation / G99 knowledge highly advantageous
- β Strong technical and client-facing communication skills
