I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Role Summary
This role is for a Power Apps technical specialist who can maintain, enhance and stabilize an existing Power Platform solution while supporting transition toward a more code-centric application model. The focus is on operational continuity, controlled change, structured knowledge capture and effective collaboration with teams delivering replacement capabilities. This is a hands-on engineering role centered on Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse and Power Platform application lifecycle management. It also benefits from an understanding of modern application engineering concepts such as SPA architecture and C#/.NET, particularly where future-state solutions are being introduced alongside the live platform. This role reflects a transitional delivery model. The successful candidate will work primarily on an established live solution, using sound engineering practice and appropriate AI-assisted tooling where helpful, while also documenting business and technical knowledge in a form that supports future redevelopment.
Role overview:
The successful candidate will take technical responsibility for the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of a live Power Platform solution estate. They will investigate and resolve defects, implement approved changes, manage solution packaging and promotion activities, and help ensure the platform remains stable, supportable and fit for purpose. Alongside day-to-day engineering activity, the role is expected to capture and structure knowledge embedded within the existing solution, including business rules, data flows, validation logic, user journeys and integration behaviors. This knowledge will support the design and build of replacement or modernized capabilities over time. The role works closely with product, support and engineering stakeholders to manage risk across a period where legacy and modernized capabilities may coexist. It is therefore important that the individual can operate with discipline, communicate clearly, and understand the impact of change across shared data and platform components.
