Powered Access Engineer – Newport

Location: Newport

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30–17:00

Contract: Permanent | 45 hours per week

Role: Depot Based

We’re looking for an experienced Powered Access Engineer to join our team at our Newport depot.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing and refurbishing our powered access fleet, making sure our equipment is safe, reliable and ready to go back out to our customers.

What You'll Be Doing

Working alongside our experienced engineering team, you’ll play an important role in keeping our powered access fleet performing at its best.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing powered access equipment
  • Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults
  • Carrying out refurbishment work and preparing equipment to go back on hire
  • Inspecting equipment and identifying required repairs
  • Accurately estimating repair requirements
  • Reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic drawings
  • Ensuring equipment meets required safety and quality standards
  • Completing relevant service and maintenance documentation
  • Working closely with the wider depot team to ensure equipment is available when our customers need it
  • Maintaining a safe, organised and professional workshop environment

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally have previous engineering experience working with powered access equipment and be confident fault finding across electrical and hydraulic systems.

Experience working with manufacturers such as Niftylift, Skyjack, Genie and JLG would be particularly useful.

We're Also Looking For

  • Previous engineering experience within powered access or a closely related equipment environment
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • A good understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • The ability to read electrical and hydraulic drawings
  • Good attention to detail when identifying and estimating repairs
  • A strong approach to health and safety
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a busy engineering team

CAP registration would be an advantage, but it isn't essential. If you have the right engineering experience and attitude, we'll invest in your training and development to help you progress to the next level.
