Role Overview

This newly created role requires an experienced Powerplant Engineer Technician who will be the technical focal point for both customers and our engineering teams, providing expert guidance on powerplant maintenance, developing engine work scopes, and supporting technicians and customers with technical queries.

Working across multiple projects, you'll play a key role in ensuring our engines continue to meet the highest standards of reliability, performance and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with customers to develop comprehensive engine work scopes for powerplants, including turbines, compressors, combustors and associated control systems.
  • Providing technical support and expert advice to customers and technicians throughout engine maintenance activities.
  • Supporting engine component and system testing and validation activities.
  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation, including work scope templates, test plans and certification reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK CAA, EASA, FAA and company regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting production and maintenance teams during engine assembly, maintenance and testing.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and keeping up to date with developments in aerospace technology.
  • Managing multiple priorities while consistently delivering work to a high standard.
  • Communicating clearly and professionally with customers, suppliers and colleagues across the business
  • Technically lead our organisation in development of increased capability for new engine types such as LEAP and GTF engines.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5-10 years' experience as a Powerplant Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft engine systems and engine maintenance.
  • Experience of engine testing and data analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with UK CAA, FAA and EASA regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in engine maintenance.
  • Knowledge of engine systems and Work Package Guides (WPGs) (preferred).
  • Project management experience (preferred).
