Job Description

We are looking for a high-calibre individual with a strong background in change and project delivery to assume key roles in an extensive portfolio of work. Our Senior Change Delivery Managers are responsible for leading projects and the associated business change activities. They have primary responsibility for successful delivery of the required outcomes, including the establishment of appropriate governance and assurance, monitoring progress, managing risks, issues and dependencies and ensuring business readiness for change.

You will have a key role, working closely with the Business Sponsor from developing the Business Case through to ensuring that all business outcomes are achieved. You will relish working in a complex environment, with diverse groups of stakeholders.

This is a people management role, directly responsible for day to day management of a project team and matrix managing a range of internal and vendor resources. You will develop your multi-disciplinary team through sharing information effectively, coaching and communicating a clear vision to ensure that your team is productive, engaged and motivated to deliver the area's aims - ensuring the end to end leadership of business change.

Skills Required

  • Time and cost management - Project executed to time, with agreed resources and within budget, and quality met. Evidence of delivering against tight timescales looked for since timescales for the programme are very tight. A focus on milestone delivery is important. Experience in costing and estimating projects is equally important.
  • Expertise in technology change - Ability to explain and work with technology groups. Expertise in working with Jira. Using both Microsoft Office (incl MS project), Jira, Confluence.
  • Strong organisation and communication skills - Strong organisation skills, with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and priorities, using both internal and external teams. Strong communication skills (verbal and written); able to represent the project at governance forums or Boards, strong status reporting, and vendor management reporting.
  • Excellent governance experience around RAID - Evidence of highlighting and managing risks, highlighting and managing assumptions, minimising and addressing issues, working with multiple internal and external dependencies.
  • People and stakeholder experience - Able to work collaboratively across a programme and organisation, building a network of contacts both internally and externally. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to negotiate, persuade and influence across technology, and business. Stakeholders should be within stream up to and including board level. Capable of innovative thinking and able to influence stakeholders within the business to adopt new approaches and ways of working.
  • Strong requirements experience - Experience of collecting, and managing requirements, then using these as the basis to deliver and test against. Working with advanced change control.
  • Vendor management experience – Experience working with multiple vendors, creating and managing SOWs, status reporting, action tracking, expertise in KPIs and SLAs, defect management, release management.
  • Planning Experience - MUST have attention to and enjoy working with detail.

Role Requirements

Minimum Criteria

  • Previous experience in Senior Project and Change Management.
  • Experience of delivering significant enhancements to or introducing new services, products and platforms and managing the impacts on people, processes, tools and culture.
  • Previous experience of managing senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience of a range of methodologies including Agile, and working in fast-paced and demanding environments.
  • Solid understanding of data software development principles, lifecycle models and methodologies within Agile and Scrum.
  • Ability to lead the construction of the project plan to deliver the outcomes of the roadmap, development plan and roll out & implementation of the roadmap.
  • Proven experience converting product roadmaps into work packages.
  • Understanding of business architecture and implementation, with the knowledge to challenge these when necessary.
  • Operating model definition experience.
  • Ability to use standardised operational processes to build scale and reduce cost/operational risk.

Essential Criteria

  • Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills.
  • Driven and proactive work approach; able to work on own initiative and handle change and ambiguity.

Desirable Criteria

  • Understanding of Banking environments.
  • A recognised project or programme management qualification e.g. Prince 2, MSP, APMP or PMP.

Salary and Benefits Information

We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate.

This role offers a salary of, Leeds: £62,480 - £70,290. In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:

  • Currently a non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/80th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/65th) or decrease (to 1/105th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year. The Bank has the discretion to vary standard accrual rates and dial up and dial down rates at any time and to withdraw dial up and dial down options at any time.
