Position: PPA Cover Teacher

Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Temporary
Start Date: 8th September 2026
Location: Lambeth, London, UK
Salary: £160 – £200 per day (M1 – UPS3)

Daily rate will be determined based on experience and equivalent placement on the Main Pay Range, up to UPS3 for candidates with substantial teaching experience.

Hours of work: 8.30am – 4.00pm, Monday to Friday (term time only).

About the Role:

We are recruiting on behalf of a busy, well-organised primary school in Lambeth for a versatile PPA Cover Teacher to release class teachers for their planning, preparation and assessment time, on a full-time, long-term temporary basis. This role suits a confident, adaptable teacher who enjoys variety and can build rapport with pupils and staff quickly across different classes and year groups, from EYFS through to Year 6.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality, pre-planned or self-planned lessons across a range of year groups and subjects
  • Maintaining consistent behaviour management and routines across different classes
  • Liaising closely with class teachers to ensure continuity of learning
  • Feeding back on pupil engagement, progress, and any welfare or behavioural concerns
  • Marking work and updating assessment records in line with school policy
  • Building positive relationships with pupils across the whole school, not just a single class

Requirements:

To be eligible for this role and the stated rate of pay, applicants must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching across a range of primary year groups
  • Strong subject knowledge across the primary curriculum
  • Confident behaviour management and the ability to adapt quickly between classes
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The right to work in the UK
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one)
